Shipping & Delivery Policy
Last updated: August 2026
At GWE Industrial, we supply industrial automation, electrical and control equipment to customers in Australia and worldwide. We aim to provide reliable, traceable and cost-effective delivery options for industrial spare parts, including new, surplus and refurbished equipment.
1. Order Processing & Dispatch
Orders for in-stock products are generally prepared for dispatch within 1–2 business days after payment has been confirmed.
Orders requiring additional inspection, testing, special packaging or export documentation may require additional processing time. Where a longer lead time applies, we will advise you before shipment.
Dispatch times and delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
2. Domestic Shipping – Australia
Orders within Australia are shipped using tracked courier or parcel services selected according to the shipment size, weight, destination and required delivery speed.
Shipping charges are calculated at checkout or quoted separately where required.
Australian delivery times vary depending on destination, carrier and service selected. Remote and regional destinations may require additional transit time.
GST, where applicable, will be displayed as part of the order and checkout process.
3. International Shipping
GWE Industrial ships industrial equipment to many international destinations.
International orders are normally sent using tracked express or commercial courier services. Shipping charges are determined by destination, shipment quantity, weight, dimensions and service level.
Estimated transit times shown on our website or provided in a quotation refer to the transportation period after dispatch and do not include delays caused by customs clearance, import inspections, local authorities or other events outside our reasonable control.
For qualifying goods exported from Australia, Australian GST may be GST-free where the statutory export requirements are satisfied. The Australian Taxation Office states that exported goods can generally be GST-free where the supplier exports them from Australia within the applicable 60-day period.
4. Customs Duties, Import Taxes & VAT
International orders are supplied on a DAP (Delivered at Place) basis under Incoterms® 2020 unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Under DAP terms, GWE Industrial arranges transportation to the agreed destination, while the customer/importer is responsible for import customs clearance and all destination-country import charges. The ICC specifically distinguishes DAP from DDP on this basis: under DAP, import clearance and associated import costs remain the buyer's responsibility.
The customer is therefore responsible for any applicable:
- customs duties or tariffs;
- import VAT, GST or sales taxes;
- customs clearance charges;
- brokerage or disbursement fees;
- import licences, permits or approvals;
- storage, inspection or administrative fees imposed by customs authorities, carriers or government agencies.
These charges are not included in the product price or shipping charge unless GWE Industrial has specifically confirmed otherwise in writing.
Import duties and taxes vary significantly between countries and depend on factors such as product classification, declared customs value, country of origin and local regulations. Customers should check applicable import requirements with their local customs authority or customs broker before placing an order.
5. Customs Documentation & Declared Value
GWE Industrial will provide reasonable commercial shipping documentation required for export, which may include a commercial invoice, packing list and product description.
All shipments will be declared using commercially reasonable and accurate information.
We will not intentionally under-declare the shipment value, describe commercial goods as gifts, or provide false customs documentation for the purpose of avoiding duties or taxes.
Where a customer requires specific customs information, tariff classification information, certificates or other documentation, the request should be made before shipment.
The importer remains responsible for determining whether the goods can legally be imported into the destination country.
6. Customs Clearance Delays
Customs authorities may inspect, hold or request additional information for international shipments.
Such procedures are outside GWE Industrial's direct control.
If customs authorities or the carrier request information from the importer, the customer must provide the requested information promptly. GWE Industrial will provide reasonable assistance with shipment documentation where possible.
Customs clearance delays do not constitute a failure by GWE Industrial to dispatch the order within the stated processing time.
7. Unpaid Duties, Refused Shipments & Abandoned Shipments
Customers must pay applicable import duties, taxes and customs-related fees required to release their shipment.
If a shipment is refused, abandoned or returned because the customer:
does not pay customs duties or taxes, refuses customs clearance, fails to provide required import information, provides an incorrect delivery address, or otherwise fails to accept delivery, GWE Industrial may deduct from any applicable refund the original shipping charge, return freight, customs charges, carrier fees, storage fees, brokerage fees and other costs incurred in recovering the goods.
A refund, where applicable, will only be assessed after the goods have been returned to GWE Industrial and inspected.
Shipping charges and customs-related costs already incurred are generally non-refundable.
8. DDP / Duties-Paid Shipping
GWE Industrial's standard international shipping terms are not DDP (Delivered Duty Paid).
Where commercially practical, customers may contact us before ordering to request a separate quotation for a duties-paid or specially arranged shipment.
Any DDP service must be expressly confirmed by GWE Industrial in writing before shipment. Unless such confirmation is provided, the customer should assume that import duties and taxes remain their responsibility.
Under Incoterms® 2020, DDP places import customs clearance and import duty obligations on the seller, whereas DAP leaves those responsibilities with the buyer.
9. Large, Heavy & Oversized Equipment
Large drives, variable speed drives, motors, cabinets, assemblies and other heavy or oversized industrial equipment may not qualify for our standard checkout shipping rates.
These products may display Freight Quote Required or similar wording.
We may contact the customer after receiving an enquiry to confirm packing dimensions, destination, transport method and freight cost before accepting the shipment.
Palletised, dangerous, unusually fragile or oversized shipments may require specialised freight services.
10. Shipping Insurance & Risk
Where appropriate, shipment tracking will be provided after dispatch.
Customers should inspect delivered packages as soon as reasonably possible.
Where visible transport damage exists, please retain the original packaging, photograph the package and product, and notify GWE Industrial promptly so that we can assess the shipment and assist with any applicable carrier claim.
For high-value shipments, additional transit insurance may be arranged or included depending on the shipping service and commercial agreement.
11. Incorrect or Incomplete Delivery Address
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address, contact name, telephone number and other information required by the carrier or customs authorities.
Any additional shipping, address-correction, redelivery, storage or return charges resulting from incorrect or incomplete customer information may be charged to the customer.
12. Split Shipments
Where an order contains multiple products, GWE Industrial may ship items separately where this allows faster or more practical fulfilment.
Where separate shipments create additional freight charges beyond the amount originally agreed with the customer, we will contact the customer before proceeding.
13. Restricted Destinations & Products
Some products or destinations may be subject to export controls, import restrictions, sanctions, carrier restrictions or other regulatory requirements.
GWE Industrial reserves the right to decline or cancel an order where we reasonably believe the shipment cannot lawfully or practically be completed.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the products ordered are permitted for import and use in their destination country.
14. Delivery Estimates
Any delivery timeframe shown on our website, at checkout or in a quotation is an estimate only.
Delivery may be affected by carrier delays, weather, customs clearance, public holidays, remote-area delivery, industrial action, security inspections or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We will provide tracking information where available and provide reasonable assistance with delayed shipments.
15. Contact Us
If you require a freight quotation, customs documentation or assistance with an international shipment, please contact GWE Industrial before placing your order.
For large orders, heavy equipment or special export requirements, we recommend requesting a quotation so that freight and documentation requirements can be confirmed before payment.
